The Effectiveness of Multichannel Language Learning

Parlons-Langues

Language learning is more effective when it engages multiple channels: listening, reading, writing and speaking practice. This multichannel learning approach (also called multimodal learning) strengthens memory retention, improves understanding, and adapts to different learner profiles. The Parlons Langues project is built on this method to offer accessible, progressive and balanced language learning, suitable for everyday life, studies, work, or travel.

By combining online language courses, educational resources, corrected exercises, and support through a learning community, Parlons Langues helps learners progress faster, gain confidence, and use the language in real-life situations. Discover our learning resources, educational blog, and language programs (IELTS, TOEFL, GED, SAT, GMAT, ACT).

Combining different learning materials

Audio, visual, and written materials each play a complementary role. Their combination helps learners better understand language structures and strengthens vocabulary acquisition. Practice with our open courses and language exercises: listening comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, writing, and speaking.

Boosting memory and comprehension

Using multiple learning channels encourages long-term memory retention. Learners connect information to different forms of perception (sound, text, visuals, practice), making it easier to reuse knowledge in real situations: asking questions, writing messages, understanding texts, or holding conversations. To go further, explore our educational blog with tips on effective language learning, vocabulary building, listening skills, and speaking with confidence.

Adapting to different learning styles

Everyone learns differently: some prefer listening, others reading or hands-on practice. The multichannel approach makes learning more inclusive and motivating, as it respects individual preferences and levels (from beginner to advanced). Need guidance or feedback? An open and free educational approach

Parlons Langues uses multichannel learning as a tool to democratize access to language education within a non-profit, educational, and community-based project. Our goal is to provide free language courses, learning resources, and a supportive environment where everyone can learn at their own pace.
